Chief Pat Bridges began his law enforcement career in 1984 with the Alvin, Texas Police Department. In 1985, Chief Bridges returned to the Metroplex as a Patrol Officer with the Richland Hills Police Department. Chief Bridges joined the Arlington Police Department and spent the next 21 plus years with agency. While serving in the Arlington Police Department, Chief Bridges served in a variety of assignments including Patrol Officer, Investigator, Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant and Gang Unit Sergeant. In 1997, Chief Bridges was promoted to Lieutenant in the Arlington Police Department and, he served as a Patrol Commander, Personnel, Recruiting and Training Commander, Traffic Operations Commander and Covert Operations Commander. Chief Bridges retired from the Arlington Police Department in November 2007 in order to serve as the Assistant Police Chief in Haltom City, Texas. Chief Bridges served the citizens of Haltom City until his appointment as Stephenville Police Chief on August 02, 2010.
Chief Bridges has an undergraduate degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice from the University of Texas Arlington. He holds a graduate degree in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University. Chief Bridges is a graduate of the School of Police Supervision at the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration. Chief Bridges is a graduate of the Leadership Command College of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State University. Chief Bridges also holds a Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
