Sgt. Steven Watts was born in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in Hewitt, Texas near Waco, and graduated from Midway High School in 1986. He then attended McLennan Community College in Waco, where he majored in Criminal Justice. In 1989, Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman where he served for four years. In 1993, after completing his service in the Army, he attended the Texas Regional Police Academy in Waco. Steven then served as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Hewitt from 1994 to 1996. He joined the Stephenville Police Department in August of 1996.
Steven's interest in law enforcement began at an early age, stemming from the influence of his fathers career. His father began working in for the Waco Police Department in 1967, and has since retired from the Hewitt Police Department, with 30 years of combined service.
