We have recently evaluated the traffic around the
elementary schools
in anticipation of the 2002-2003 school year. The traffic is always
heavy, particularly when students are being picked up after school.
The primary concern we have is that traffic occasionally gets backed up because of parents waiting in front of the school to pickup
or drop off their children. Another
problem is that cars are double parking.
To see the routes for your child's school click the school
name.
If you have to wait in a no parking zone,
do not leave your car unattended. You will receive a ticket for stopping or parking
in no parking zones, double parking, or violations of other restricted
parking. There will be no other warnings other
than this notice. Please comply with all traffic and parking
laws.
Our goal is to keep the traffic
moving and to keep your children safe. Please keep this in mind
when driving around the schools. Drive with courtesy and respect for
other drivers and pedestrians.
Sincerely,
Chief Roy Halsell
